The minimal design and attention to detail are to awaken the sense of touch while in use. With no ambition to translate the philosophy of the center figure of Chinese Taoism, Lao Tsze (500B.C.), the designer tries to record her understanding of this master’s thinking: harmony between the being (?you) and the non-being (?wu). To keep the design as minimal as possible is to encourage the user to notice the void emptiness, the hollow part that people put food in/on.
